A REFLECTION JOURNAL

7 Days of
Coloured Static

Seven thoughts. Seven questions.
A little space to work out what comes next.

For the thoughts that get louder when everything else gets quiet.

HOW TO USE THIS JOURNAL

A little space
to think

Seven days. No perfect answers.

This isn’t about finding seven perfect answers in seven days.

It’s somewhere to stop for a few minutes, put the noise down, and notice what’s actually going on underneath it.

Write a sentence or fill the page. Skip a question. Come back later.

Take ten quiet minutes. Read the thought. Sit with the questions. Write whatever turns up.

Your reflections stay on this device. They are saved in your browser as you type and are not sent to Coloured Static.

Day 01 starts when you’re ready.

DAY 01

You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out

There’s a strange point in life where people stop asking what you want to be when you grow up and start assuming you already know.

Most of us don’t. We make decisions with the information we have, learn something, change, and make another one. A life can be moving forward even when it doesn’t look particularly organised from the inside.

You only need enough clarity for the next step.

DAY 02

You’re Allowed to Change Your Mind

A plan can make sense for years and still stop fitting the person you are now.

Changing direction doesn’t erase what came before. You keep the experience, the lessons, the people you met, and a much clearer idea of what you do and don’t want.

You can appreciate the road behind you without having to keep walking in the same direction.

DAY 03

You Don’t Need to Know What Comes Next

Not knowing what comes next doesn’t automatically mean you’re lost.

Sometimes you’re simply between versions of the plan. The old one no longer fits, and the new one hasn’t taken shape yet.

That middle bit can feel uncomfortable because there’s nothing neat to point at. But uncertainty is still a place you’re allowed to stand.

Uncertainty isn’t the same as having no direction.

DAY 04

You’re Not Behind

It’s easy to turn somebody else’s timeline into evidence that you’re late.

A different job. A house. A relationship. A family. A business. A version of themselves that looks settled from the outside.

But there isn’t one timetable everyone quietly agreed to and forgot to send you.

Different timing is still timing.

DAY 05

Starting Again Isn’t Starting From Nothing

Starting again can make it feel as though everything before it has been wiped from the board.

It hasn’t.

You arrive with judgement you didn’t have before, skills you had to earn, boundaries you learned the expensive way, and a much better sense of what matters to you.

A new beginning still carries an old education.

DAY 06

Not Everything Needs Fixing Tonight

Some problems need action. Others need sleep, distance, a conversation, or simply enough time for the emotion around them to stop shouting.

Not every uncomfortable feeling is an emergency.

Sometimes the kindest thing you can do for tomorrow’s version of yourself is leave one thing unresolved for the night.

You are allowed to leave something unfinished for the night.

DAY 07

What Do You Want to Keep?

Change tends to make us focus on what needs to go.

But there are things worth carrying forward too.

People. Habits. Parts of yourself. Tiny routines. Values. The version of you that got through something difficult even if they didn’t do it elegantly.

Moving forward doesn’t require throwing everything away.

Reinvention doesn’t have to mean erasure.

BEFORE YOU GO…

You don’t need to leave these seven days with a plan.

Maybe you noticed something.
Maybe you admitted something.
Maybe one question annoyed you enough that you’re still thinking about it.

That counts.

Keep the conversation going
